Sell Property Privately: There’s Never Been a Better Time to Try
Reports from theadvisory.co.uk show we are entering the long-predicted second dip housing correction. What’s more a groundswell of respected opinion, including the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors is telling us that this is what the near future holds.
Unlike the first dip of the correction, this time we will not be saved by weak supply, because the government is set to cut millions of public sector jobs. We are probably going to see a lot of people trying to sell their homes during this correction, and for that reason anyone who has the savvy and bravery to try and sell their property privately will almost certainly be glad they did.
The home sales market will almost certainly become fiercely competitive as sellers fight for what few buyers there is. Estate agents will be snowed under and practically unable or unwilling to go the extra mile for anyone seller; I mean how could they; they have to treat all their sellers equally don’t they — at least that is the theory.

I could say: who wants to sell your house as much as you? But estate agents want to sell houses, as that is how they earn their money. But beyond the sale they really don’t care too much about getting the best price all that often — especially in a difficult market. It is not their fault; we all try to make sure we earn a decent living for our family. It is just unfortunate that to do this, estate agents often cut prices too drastically, and/or too quickly. more info
